About DFWMAS

The Dallas/Fort Worth Marine Aquarium Society (DFWMAS) is the premier metroplex MAS. The DFWMAS is dedicated to promoting public interest in the marine aquarium hobby and the advancement of knowledge in the husbandry of closed marine ecosystems. We welcome hobbyist of all experience levels and their family to join us online or at any of our many meetings to make the most of the hobby. We are a large and friendly bunch who all just want to have fun and enjoy the wonderful saltwater world.

Our Mission Statement represents us:

  • Strives to initiate public interest in the marine aquarium hobby.
  • Educates hobbyists regarding the importance of the marine ecosystem.
  • Increases knowledge in the husbandry of the marine aquarium system.
  • Promotes captive coral propagation and marine fish breeding.

Please visit our Forums and introduce yourself if you have not done so already. We want to hear from everyone, near and far. The club was established in 1992 as small gathering of friends at Local Fish Stores by a couple people and the over 400 members is now led by a dozen or so Board of Directors and Chair committee persons. Meetings

The club holds meetings the second Wednesday of every month in Grapevine Texas inside Stacy’s Furniture. We have various speakers, local and national, enjoy discussions with the many members of the club, enjoy a snack or two, and give away some great prizes. We look forward to seeing you there! Next Wave

Every year we host our popular all day marine conference, Next Wave where we bring in 4 world know speakers and about a dozen national vendors. A couple hundred people show up every year, so if you want a all in one shot at learning more then be sure to come on out.
